On April 18, 2015 SCHLHC hosted a Hispanic Community Liaison Summit in Charleston, SC. Hispanic Community Liaisons and representatives from organizations who are currently engaged with or interested in outreach to the growing South Carolina Hispanic population came together to discuss the liaison role, best practices, challenges, and the needs associated with the role of connecting S.C.’s Hispanic/Latino community to the information, services and programs available to them. We heard from panelists representing diverse perspectives of liaison roles and enjoyed engaging group discussion and reflection about our roles as Hispanic Community Liaisons. Organizational members and sponsors hosted resource tables and attendees had the chance to network with each other and exchange information.
Thank you to our partners MUSC College of Nursing, Hands on Health and The Alliance for Hispanic Health for their many contributions to help make this event possible.
