The Benefit Bank is a means of fighting poverty through a web-based service that directly assists low and moderate-income individuals and families to obtain benefits and services. More information about the Benefit Bank will be posted soon.

Substance Use and Latinos: Prevalence, Programs and Outreach

Substance abuse (including drugs and alcohol) are serious conditions within the Hispanic population. Three panel members presented information from the following organizations: Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS), the Latino Coordinator for DAODAS, and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Statewide and local drug counseling information and a personal account of overcoming alcoholism was shared at this meeting. An audio file and a Powerpoint of this discussion can be found below.
